Find the issue that matches what you’re experiencing. Check your account and subscription first, then the connection path, and finally the affected app.

For your first setup, start with the guides. If an existing setup keeps failing, see the troubleshooting handbook. For orders or account details, use the support ticket portal after signing in.

ACCOUNT / SUBSCRIPTION

Accounts & Subscriptions

First, confirm which account you’re signed in to, then check the active configuration.

Do I need an email address to create an account? How can I reset my password?

No email address is required; create an account with a username and password. Save your login details, and make sure your password manager has the user panel URL. Because accounts are not linked to an email address, password recovery by email is not available. If you’re still signed in on a device, open the panel to review your account settings and contact support through a ticket to ask about available recovery options. If you can no longer sign in, check the support options on the Contact page. Provide only the account verification details requested on the page. Never post your password, payment records, or subscription link in a public forum.

Where can I find my subscription link, and how do I update it in my client?

Sign in to the user panel and find your subscription details in the account overview. Then follow your client’s instructions to import the subscription. If you’ve already imported it, open the client’s subscription or configuration list, select your active V8VPN configuration, and choose Update or Refresh. Once it’s updated, make sure that configuration is still active, then select a route again. Pasting the link again is not the same as refreshing the route list, and you should not enable configurations from unknown sources. If the panel has issued a new subscription link, replace the old link in your configuration. Your subscription link provides access to your account, so don’t share it publicly.

Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch computers or add a device?

There’s no limit on the number of devices that can be connected at the same time, so adding a device alone doesn’t mean you need a different plan. V8VPN supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Sign in to the same account on your new device, get the compatible client and subscription, and import the subscription. All devices share the account plan, so check your subscription status and remaining data before use. Unlimited devices does not mean unlimited data. Remove saved configurations from devices you no longer use. If a device is lost or your subscription details may have been exposed, review the available security settings in the panel and contact support through a ticket for next steps.

Where can I download the client? Why is the iOS download conditional?

Download clients from the user panel. You must also sign in to access your subscription. Clients for Windows / macOS / Android / Linux are available after you sign in; the iOS download requires an active plan. In the panel, first check that you’re signed in to the right account and confirm your plan status. Then choose your platform and follow the on-screen instructions to install and configure the client. Don’t download installers from article attachments or unfamiliar shared links, and don’t apply setup instructions for another platform to your device. If the client is installed but won’t connect, check the subscription import, system connection permissions, and route selection instead of repeatedly reinstalling it.

CONNECTION / DIAGNOSIS

Connections & Troubleshooting

Tell apart issues with your basic network, client status, and app access.

Where should I start if I can’t connect at all?

Disconnect the client first and check whether your current network can open everyday websites. If it can’t, troubleshoot your local network before anything else. Once your basic connection is working, sign in to the panel to check your plan status and remaining data. Then update the subscription in the client and confirm that your system allows VPN connections. Try another route and see whether the issue affects one route or all of them. Temporarily disable other proxies or similar connection tools to prevent conflicting settings. If the problem persists, note the client error, operating system, route name, and circumstances, then submit a ticket. “Can’t connect” alone isn’t enough detail to troubleshoot.

The client says it’s connected, but why won’t websites load?

“Connected” usually means the client has established a connection; it doesn’t guarantee that the website you want to visit is reachable. Try several websites to see whether none load or just one. Then check that your system proxy or VPN permissions are active and that your browser isn’t configured to use a different proxy. If some sites work, try another route and restart the browser to clear stale connections. If you see a DNS error, make sure the client’s DNS settings match the current configuration. Don’t add unfamiliar DNS addresses without a reason. If only one service is affected, check its status, account permissions, and regional requirements too.

Why does my browser work, but a particular app won’t use the proxy?

Check whether the client is in rule, global, or direct mode, and confirm that the app hasn’t been excluded from proxy routing. Some apps use their own network settings or keep existing connections open after launch, so fully quit and reopen the app after changing rules. You can briefly switch to global mode as a test. If access works, check the routing rules and app matching; if it still fails, check the app’s permissions, the service status, and the route’s region. Global mode is useful for troubleshooting, but it isn’t necessarily the right long-term setting for every app. For work networks, follow your organization’s device and access policies.

How do I fix a failed subscription update or disconnects when a mobile app runs in the background?

If a subscription update fails, first check that you can sign in to the panel, that the subscription link is complete, and that the client has selected the configuration for your current account. Missing characters, an outdated link, or a problem with your basic network connection can all prevent an update. Don’t share the full link with anyone while troubleshooting. If a mobile client disconnects in the background, check the system’s battery-saving settings, background activity permissions, and VPN configuration permissions. Then test again after switching networks. If the issue occurs only on a particular network or while the device is idle, include those conditions and the error message in your ticket to help distinguish configuration issues from system restrictions.

ROUTES / PERFORMANCE

Speed & Routes

Keep test conditions consistent when comparing connection paths.

Which regions does V8VPN cover, and how should I choose a route?

V8VPN covers 100+ countries and 240+ routes. The options available to you are listed in your client’s current subscription. First consider what you need the route for: for everyday browsing, try one suited to your network; for AI tools and streaming, check the client’s groups and the service’s regional requirements. Geographic distance alone doesn’t determine performance—your local carrier, the route to the exit, and the destination website can all affect your experience. To compare routes, keep the device, network, and task the same, and change only the route. Once you find an exit that works for you, save it as a favorite to avoid unnecessary region changes.

What’s the difference between IEPL, relay, and direct routes?

These terms describe connection paths, not guaranteed results for every use case. IEPL refers to a route carried over a dedicated line. A relay route sends traffic through an intermediate node before it reaches the exit. A direct route uses a more direct public-network path. Your experience still depends on your local network, current congestion, and the destination service, so a route type’s name alone can’t tell you which will be faster. Compare different types while troubleshooting, and check whether page loading, app connections, and ongoing use meet your needs. Use the regions, types, and groups shown in the client to guide your choice. Don’t assume unlisted cities, bandwidth, or access capabilities.

Should I keep switching routes when things slow down during peak hours?

First check whether regular websites and your local network are also slow. If your basic connection has slowed down too, check your Wi-Fi signal, background downloads, and bandwidth use on other devices. If only traffic through the proxy is slow, update your subscription and try a different route type or exit. Keep the task the same when comparing routes. Changing the region, mode, and app settings all at once makes it hard to tell what helped. Rapidly switching routes can interrupt downloads, playback, or login sessions, so avoid making it a habit. If the same issue keeps happening at a particular time, note your network conditions, route name, and affected apps in a support ticket.

Are route issues always to blame when ChatGPT or streaming services don’t work?

Not necessarily. Your network connection, exit region, account status, and the platform’s own policies can all affect access. First identify the error: does the page fail to load, does sign-in fail, do you see a regional notice, or is playback affected? Then choose a route from the AI Tools or Streaming group in the client. If other sites work but the platform doesn’t, don’t delete all your configurations. Try restarting the app, checking your account permissions, and keeping the exit region consistent. Quantum encryption is part of V8VPN’s service description; it doesn’t guarantee access granted by third-party platforms or continued availability of any particular library or feature.

BILLING / REFUNDS

Billing & Refunds

Check the billing method, order status, and data reset rules.

How much does a monthly plan cost, and when does data reset?

Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB · ¥18/month for 250GB · ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on your activation date, not at the start of each calendar month. Before choosing a plan, consider how much data you use for everyday browsing, AI tools, and video. There’s no limit on simultaneous devices, but they all share the data in your account plan. If the client says you’re low on data, check your usage and plan status in the panel before deciding whether to change plans. Not every connection issue is caused by the route. Check the Plans page and user panel for current prices and available options.

Do data add-ons expire? What happens if I upgrade partway through a plan?

Data add-ons: ¥158/300GB · ¥358/1000GB · ¥658/3000GB. Use them whenever you need to; they never expire. Data add-ons and monthly plans, which reset each month, are different billing options. Choose based on how you use your data rather than treating them as the same kind of plan. If you upgrade a monthly plan partway through, the price difference is prorated based on the days remaining. Before proceeding, check the order details in the user panel, including the plan, amount due, and account status. Don’t estimate the new expiry date using the full monthly price. If your account already has another plan or data add-on, contact support through a ticket first to confirm how stacking, replacement, or deductions work.

Which payment methods are supported, and what should I do if my account status doesn’t change after payment?

We accept Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Create an order in the user panel and follow the checkout instructions. Check the plan and amount before paying. If your account status hasn’t changed after payment, check the order list to see whether the order has updated, then refresh the account overview. Don’t submit the same payment repeatedly just because the page hasn’t changed yet. If the payment record and order status don’t match, submit a ticket with the order ID, selected plan, payment method, and a redacted payment record. Include the message shown after payment. Never share your payment password or post full transaction details publicly.

How do I request a refund, and what should I include in a support ticket?

V8VPN offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, sign in to the user panel and open a support ticket. Clearly state that you’re requesting a refund and include the relevant order ID and selected plan. See the Terms of Service for the full terms. If you’d also like help troubleshooting a connection issue, include your operating system, the client’s error message, route, network conditions, and steps you’ve already tried. You don’t need to reinstall the client repeatedly just to request a refund. Before attaching screenshots, hide passwords, full subscription links, and unrelated payment details. Add any follow-up information to the same ticket so it can be reviewed alongside your order and support history. Don’t use public comments to verify your account.

More troubleshooting and useful links

In your ticket, describe the network environment, app, error message, and checks you’ve already tried. This is more helpful for troubleshooting than a connection screenshot alone. If you can’t sign in, see the Contact page. Don’t share account details through public channels.
